Wycombe Set For Comfortable Night against Struggling Stevenage
The EFL Trophy is not the easiest competition to bet on, with teams making several changes to their starting eleven, but this is a game where I don’t think that will matter too much should it happen. Wycombe have made a fantastic start in League One this season, they sit in 2nd place so far and have lost just one of their 12 games played. Stevenage are in a league below, and couldn’t have made a worse start, they sit rock bottom in League Two, and are still without a win this season, survival already looks a tough ask with how they are playing right now.
These two come together for an EFL Trophy game on Tuesday night and the expectation is that both will make a similar number of changes to their teams, with four or five expected. Wycombe won’t want the great feeling they have around the club to go anywhere, which is why they are set to play a few first teamers here, to keep the momentum going. For Stevenage, although it is league points they need, they will take anything right now, including a win in this competition.
For them, this is all about momentum and trying to turn things around. They know it is still early days in the league, a win here which is unexpected would certainly raise the mood a little at the club before heading back into league competition at the weekend.
Wycombe vs Stevenage Betting Tips
Although Stevenage would love a win, that looks to be easier said than done for them. They are lacking the quality to compete with most in League Two, never mind a team that is at the top of League One and playing well.
This looks like being a tough night for the League Two side, and a game that I think will result in another defeat for them.
Wycombe look strong, they will make changes here but they will still play some first teamers to keep their run going. That can be enough for them to take what should be a comfortable win on Tuesday night.
