Uganda Square Off Against Egypt In Africa Cup of Nations
The Africa Cup of Nations is starting to come towards the end of the group stages, as the primary contenders for the trophy begin to emerge. In many ways, it’s still pretty difficult to tell who is going to progress deep into the tournament, but in others, it’s just fun to see how it all unfolds. The game we’re going to be looking at today is Uganda vs Egypt, where one nation is already preparing for the next stage of proceedings and the other has qualification on their mind. One thing is for sure: this one is going to be fun.
Uganda weren’t really viewed as a nation of note heading into the tournament, but since they’ve arrived, they’ve been able to really impress the masses. They were able to defeat DR Congo 2-0, in a game that many expected to go the other way. They went on to draw 1-1 with Zimbabwe, which was a result that put them in the driving seat for second spot. Uganda don’t have any players missing as a result of injuries or suspension, meaning that they are expected to stick with the same starting XI that drew with Zimbabwe.
Egypt took their time to get going in a tournament that, not so long ago, they wouldn’t really have been expecting to host. They edged past Zimbabwe 1-0 to get themselves up and running, and then in their second game, they were able to beat DR Congo 2-0 to secure their place in the Round of 16. The expectation is that they’re going to rest some players in preparation for the next round, as they only need a point to ensure they finish top of the table. Salah is probably going to be rested, whereas Alaa and Mohamed are just one yellow card away from being suspended.
Uganda vs Egypt Betting Prediction
Getting off to the right kind of start in this game is going to be key for Uganda, because they’ll be well aware of the fact that Egypt won’t be taking it quite as seriously. The fact that they’re the hosts would lead you to assume that they’ll ease to victory in this one, but we don’t think that’s going to be the case. We’re predicting that the Egyptians will still manage to come away with all three points, but Uganda certainly aren’t going to make it easy for them in what should be a pretty entertaining clash of styles.
