Switzerland Offer Solid Value to Win in Ireland
With club football taking a break for internationals, our attention turns to the games taking place over the next few days in the Euro 2020 qualifying groups. The games begin on Thursday night, and one of the biggest games to take place on that day is this one, with Switzerland travelling to face the Republic Of Ireland. Both teams will have their eyes on qualification and these are a big three points that are at stake.
Two qualifying places are up for grabs from this group, and Republic Of Ireland are setting the early pace. They have ten points from four games so far, with Denmark behind them on five points from three games and Switzerland back in third with four points from two games.
That table is a little misleading though at the moment, with Republic Of Ireland playing double the games that Switzerland have. I full expect the Swiss to find their way to the top of the table when things settle down and win this group. They have the quality in their team to beat both Republic Of Ireland and Denmark, we saw what they were capable of at the World Cup last year.
They can take a big step towards that, and slow down the Irish in the process, by picking up three important points here. This Irish team is nothing compared to the ones we have seen contest these kind of groups in the past, they are below that standard. Switzerland on the other hand have a handful of very good players who play at a high level and it is those players who they rely on.
Republic Of Ireland vs Switzerland Betting Tips
This group looks as though it will be a close one, but eventually I expect to see Switzerland rise to the top and claim the top spot after qualifying has done. They can take a big step towards that by winning this game, something I am more than happy to back them to do.
Although away from home, I think they offer very good value in this one, against a Republic Of Ireland team that is not as good as the ones we have seen in years gone by. They have the ability to make this tough, but ultimately, Switzerland have a bit more class and quality in their line up, something that will see them through and allow them to take three valuable points back home with them on Thursday night.
