South Africa Clash With Morocco In Africa Cup of Nations
The Africa Cup of Nations is coming to the end of the group stages, and things are really starting to pick up. Some folks have argued that the entertainment value hasn’t quite been there in a lot of the matches presented to us thus far, but we truly believe that’s going to improve as the days and weeks go on. Today we’re going to be taking a look at South Africa vs Morocco, which should be a really intriguing game for a variety of reasons. One reason, for historians out there, is due to the controversy that surrounded South Africa being awarded the 2010 FIFA World Cup over Morocco back in the day.
South Africa kicked off their tenure in the Africa Cup of Nations this year with a narrow loss to Ivory Coast, which certainly got people talking about what their real expectations were in this tournament. They went on to face Namibia and while they were able to secure the three points, again, there were question marks over their actual style of play. In this game against Morocco it’s safe to say that there can be no room for error, regardless of whether or not fans believe they’ll be safely in the knockout stages one way or the other.
Morocco also had a little bit of trouble when it came to facing off against Namibia, as they were only able to defeat them 1-0. They went on to face the Ivory Coast and, in what many considered to be a bit of a shock, they once again came away with all three points. They seem to have the kind of confidence that you need to possess at this stage of a tournament, and it’ll be very interesting to see how they approach this one.
South Africa vs Morocco Betting Prediction
South Africa will be well aware of the fact that, in all likelihood, they’re probably going to have to secure the win here in order to try and qualify as one of the top two in this group. The fact that the best third-place rule exists should ensure that they make it through to the next round regardless, but you just never know with a tournament of this magnitude. Even with that being the case, we still believe Morocco will be the ones to get the job done as they continue their forward momentum in preparation for the knockout stages.
