LAFC Square Off With Atlanta United In Big MLS Clash
Major League Soccer’s current season is starting to pick up some pace as we look ahead to the MLS Cup play-offs. Some teams are scratching and clawing just to get into the post-season, whereas others are quite clearly going to get there – and it’s just a question of whether they’ll stumble or thrive in their remaining regular season games. Some may criticise the overall quality of the league in comparison to some of its European counterparts, but at the end of the day, that just comes across as being a little bit arrogant.
LAFC’s last six games have showcased both the highs and the lows of life in the fast lane as a notable MLS favourite. They were able to edge out Portland in an entertaining 3-2 encounter, before being beaten 1-0 by Colorado in what was a pretty surprising result. They proceeded to tear through Sporting KC with a 5-1 win, before going one better with a 6-1 triumph over Vancouver. They kept the ball rolling with a 3-1 win over Houston, but their inability to keep clean sheets came back to bite them in their crucial derby game against LA Galaxy as a Zlatan Ibrahimovic hat-trick led to a 3-2 defeat.
Atlanta, on the other hand, are still trying to find their feet after what can only be described as a terrible start to their campaign. The reigning champions’ last six game stretch began with a nice 2-1 win over Montreal, but they came crashing back down to reality against Chicago as they lost 5-1. They then played out an entertaining 3-3 draw against NY Red Bulls, before losing 2-1 in a narrow encounter with Seattle. In their last two games, however, they’ve proven themselves to be champions all over again with 5-0 and 2-0 wins over Houston and DC United.
Los Angeles vs Atlanta Betting Prediction
This is one of those games that could quite literally go either way, and we aren’t just saying that for the sake of it. Los Angeles FC are going to need to bounce back in a big way after their recent form, and while logic would dictate that the momentum is with Atlanta, it just feels as if they’ve got a mistake or two in them. LAFC have some great attacking stars, and we think they’re going to get them over the finish line here. It’s still going to be pretty tight, especially in the first half, but the west coast representatives will reign supreme.
