Houston Face Seattle In MLS Western Conference Battle
The MLS continues to shock, amaze and dazzle the masses on a week to week basis, and they’ll be aiming to do so once more this weekend in what looks set to be one of the most stacked set of fixtures we’ve seen all season long. The game we’re going to be taking a look at today will be contested between Houston Dynamo and Seattle Sounders, who are in two very different positions over in the Western Conference right now. The Sounders are in third place, whereas Dynamo are eighth and are pushing for a place in the play-offs.
Houston’s last six game stretch began with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of New England Revolution, who are starting to look like real contenders for the play-offs. They proceeded to batter New York Red Bulls 4-0, but that was their last reason to celebrate for a little while as they went on to lose three games in a row. Firstly they were handed a surprise defeat by FC Cincinnati, then they were comfortably beaten 3-1 with Los Angeles FC, and then they were taken to the cleaners in an utter demolition: 5-0 by Atlanta. Still, they did manage to beat Toronto last time out.
Seattle have also been a little bit inconsistent, with an unconvincing 1-0 win over Vancouver getting their last six game run started. They went on to lose 3-0 to New York City FC, but bounced back with a 2-1 win over Columbus – before registering the same scoreline against Atlanta. They took a break from MLS football to go head to head with Borussia Dortmund in a friendly, and they didn’t embarrass themselves at all in the 3-1 loss. Then, in their last outing, they were given a little bit of a shock as they fell 2-1 to rivals Portland.
Houston vs Seattle Betting Prediction
There’s certainly an argument to be made that the Western Conference is the most competitive of the two in Major League Soccer, and we think that is going to be proven all over again in this game. We can see these two teams swinging for the fences, to the point where they virtually cancel each other out. There are going to be plenty of goals to enjoy for both neutrals and fans of either side, but it’s going to be pretty stressful along the way. We’re going to go with a 2-2 draw, but we wouldn’t be all too surprised if it’s even more than that.
