The first team to book their World Cup final place is France. After what was a very good, and tense game last night the French found a way past Belgium, who they bet 1-0. They await the winners of the game between England and Croatia, and have an extra day of rest ahead of the the final which takes place on Sunday.

The game between France and Belgium was always going to be an exciting watch, and it certainly was that. Both teams played well and offered plenty going forward, although chances were kept to a minimum as both teams wanted to ensure they didn’t concede a goal.

During the second half of the game, France found a way through and took the lead, it was after this goal that the game opened up a little more. France had chances to double their lead during the game, but Belgium also pushed hard and tried to get back into the game. It wasn’t to be though for them, and the French booked their ticket for Sunday’s game.

After a slow start, France have now played three very good games in the knockout round, and look to be coming into form at exactly the right time. Going forward they have shown talent to score a total of seven goals past Argentina, Uruguay and Belgoium. They’ve not had the easiest path into the final, but they have made it, and whoever faces them will have a lot to think about when they do so.

We know France are the first team to book their place in the World Cup final, but will they take on England or Croatia in the final? The answer to that question will be revealed later tonight when that pair meet in what should be another very good game.
