France Take On United States In Huge World Cup Clash
The Women’s World Cup is starting to get even more interesting, as we prepare for the quarter-final stage of the tournament. All eight remaining teams will feel as if they’ve got a somewhat realistic chance of getting the job done and lifting the trophy, but in all honesty, the expectation is that whoever wins the game we’re previewing today will be the one to become world champions. The game in question is set to be contested between France and United States, who are both widely viewed as the favourites for the WC.
France began their home World Cup with an emphatic 4-0 win over South Korea, giving them a great boost heading into what was always going to be a tough tie against Norway. They managed to come away with a nice 2-1 win, before struggling through against Nigeria in a 1-0 win. They came head to head with Brazil in the Round of 16, and somewhat surprisingly, it wasn’t as easy as many fans would’ve anticipated it to be. They were taken to extra time by the Brazilians, but eventually, they edged past them 2-1 to the sound of relief from fans across the country.
The United States got off to the definition of a perfect start against Thailand, putting an unbelievable 13 goals past them on their way towards victory. Up next was a fun clash against Chile, and despite the Chilean keeper putting up a great effort for her nation, the Americans still came away with a 3-0 win. They then went on to beat Sweden 2-0 which is no small achievement, considering the defensive prowess of the Swedes. In their own Round of 16 encounter they were pushed to the limit against Spain, but in the end, a late penalty helped them to secure the win.
France vs United States Betting Prediction
It really does feel like the United States’ narrow win over Spain was a wake up sign for them, and moving forward, they’re going to be the team that we all know them to be. We can see them starting off strong in the early going against the hosts, before really putting their foot down and running away with the victory. We just can’t picture the French giving them enough problems to reasonably create a great game out of this, despite what everyone seems to be saying about how amazing this encounter is going to be. Newsflash: you’re setting yourselves up for disappointment.
