France Look a Good Bet to Beat Germans on Home Soil

The big game on Tuesday sees the past two World Cup winners go head to head when France host Germany. This is a big game, and thanks to the UEFA Nations League we are seeing many more of these games, which is great for fans. Long gone are the list of uncompetitive friendlies against lower nations, and now we have a schedule jam packed with competitive, top class games, just like this one.

France currently sit top of the Nations League A1 table with a draw and a win from their opening two games, while Germany have picked up just one point in a draw at home to France, and currently sit bottom. There is a clear difference between these two teams right now, despite only subtle differences in how good they actually are on paper. France are on a high, their national side has brought great joy to the country recently and that is really helping them. They have a good bunch of players who are split between those who are in their prime and those who are young and still improving. Everyone knows their role in the side, and it is clear what direction French football is heading right now, and perhaps one of the best parts about this team is that they don’t look as though they have reached their end goal just yet, there is more to come from them.

This is the complete opposite to what is happening with Germany football. After winning the 2014 World Cup, much of that side was torn apart due to key members retiring from international football. Germany have a few older players who are still in the side, but the youngsters who have come in are yet to pick up the baton like was expected. The quality is there, and for their clubs these players are all showing they are more than capable, but the international team just hasn’t clicked yet. The Germans needs to find their identity once again, before they can legitimately challenge for major honours.

Can Germany Climb to the Top Again?

The German national team has alwasy been close to the top of the pile when it comes to the international pecking order, but based on their performance this summer at the World Cup they are some way off that right now. The swagger that is often associated with their football, and their willingness to win is missing, and the youngsters who are coming through as the next generation need to find a way to bring that back.

After the 2014 World Cup, big chances came and it looks as though the national team has not been able to cope with those chances. Out went big, influential personalities that lived and breathed international football and the newcomers are not really having the impact they were supposed to. This next batch of players are expected to carry the national team for the next decade, but if the World Cup this summer was a glimpse into the future, German fans will be hoping that is not the case.

I don’t think this is an issue of talent, because the players we are talking about are all more than capable of playing to a good level for their clubs. This is a mental issue with the players that are involved right now, they just don’t seem to have the right frame of mind. In the build up to the next World Cup, which is four years away, Germany have to show that they are capable of competing at the top table. The young players coming through appear to be good enough, but do they have the right mental toughness to bring that famous swagger back to the German national team?

France Capable of Dominating the Next Decade

In stark contrast to where Germany are heading right now, the future looks exceptionally bright for France. It would be no surprise to see them dominate world football for the next few years with the number of talented youngsters they have in their team right now. Couple those with experienced players who are in their prime right now, and that is the big reason why France won the World Cup this summer.

This French team is full of stars, they don’t really rely on one particular player to do the damage but with the way he is playing at such a young age right now, Kylian Mbappe could turn out to be the leader and star of this team. He is just 19 years old right now, which is scary when you consider how well he played at the World Cup and how well he has done so far this season for PSG.

Their win at the World Cup this summer was certainly no fluke, and that could be the first major tournament of many that this French team can win. This looks to be a golden age for French football, and one that looks set to excite not only their own fans, but the entire footballing world. We have seen them at their brilliant best, and the prospect of even more to come from them is certainly a mouth-watering one for football fans.

France vs Germany Betting Tips

the gulf in class between these two is probably not too great, but there is a big difference between the outlook of the teams right now, as well as the mood in the camps. French football is on a high and moving in the right direction, with a group of youngsters pushing them further forward. German football seems to be stood around scratching its head and searching for answers.

With this in mind, the only bet to have in this game for me is to back a French win. It is hard to gauge how seriously teams are taking the Nations League right now, but France will be interested in keeping their dominance going and getting to the final next summer is one thing that will keep that going. A win in this game would give them a great chance to qualify for the final as group winners, with their final game coming against a winnable Dutch team.

These two drew when they met in Germany two games ago, but with France back on their home soil they look a good bet to pick up three points on Tuesday night. It is rare to be against the German national team, such is their rich history but France are the new kings of world football, they are in a great place right now and they can make it count by taking all three points when the Germans visit.
