France and Belgium Set For Mouthwatering Clash
There are just four teams remaining in the 2018 World Cup, and at this stage all four will fancy their chances of success. The first semi-final on Tuesday looks set to be a cracker, with both France and Belgium showing great form so far in the tournament. These two teams attack and play to win so that should set up for a relatively open game, with plenty of attacking chances for both teams.
France looked in complete control when beating Uruguay in their quarter final on Friday, putting up their best performance of the tournament so far. They didn’t impress too many people in the group stages, but it looks as though they did what they needed to in those games, and saved their best for the knockout rounds. In the last 16 they won a seven goal thriller against Argentina, and then backed that up with another very solid performance against Uruguay. Based on what we have seen so far, there could be more to come from France and they could be peaking at just the right moment to pounce and take the trophy.
Belgium haven’t grown into the tournament like France, instead they have performed at a very high level throughout from their very first game. This has given them a great boost in confidence and momentum, but whether they can keep up this form remains to be seen. We haven’t seen anything to suggest they are struggling so far, but after five good performances, do they Belgians have anything else left to give? That remains to be seen but to beat France they are going to have to be as good, possibly better than everything we have seen so far.
France vs Belgium Betting Tips
Both teams will go into this game thinking they can win it and land their place in the World Cup final. The other thing they have in common is that they have an abundance of match winners within their ranks. This should set the game up brilliantly, and it is a game that I am really looking forward to watching as a neutral.
From a betting point of view, the edge here has to go with France. There is a chance that they could have even more to offer than what we have seen so far, they have clearly saved themselves for the knockout round and are now flourishing thanks to this.
Belgium need to be as good if not better than they were against Brazil, but that was their fifth game where we have seen them perform to a high level, can they keep it up and perform like that once more? Should they do so then they would deserve their place in the final.
However, having said that, France look to be the team with more to offer and they are the selection in what should be a tremendous World Cup semi-final. Tune in for this game, because it is going to be a good one, and I am backing France for success.
