England to Learn From Mistakes of First Game and Beat Romania
For 88 minutes of their opening U21 European Championships game, England will have been very happy. Although they were not fantastic, they played good football in parts and stood up to one of the best teams in the tournament in France. However, in the 89th minute and then again in stoppage time, the French scored and eventually won the game 2-1. A draw would have been a disappointing end after being ahead for so long, but the loss was ten times worse and now England have to pick themselves back up and go again when they face Romania on Friday night.
The positives were there for England in that game and that is what they have to remember. Although ultimately it ended in defeat, they were matching one of the best teams here, and that is a huge positive especially in their opening game of the tournament. They did a lot of things right in the game, if they do those again here then I see nothing other than a comfortable success for the Three Lions.
Romania surprised a few people in their opening game, beating Croatia 4-1 but when you compare the teams in this group, England and France are far superior to the other two. There is no doubt that morale will be high in the Romanian camp, which certainly cannot be said about the English one, and that will help them. However, there appears to be no genuine quality in the team and that is where England have a real edge. With players like Phil Foden and James Maddison joining in the attack when they can, this is an England team with star players in who can exploit any mistakes Romania make.
England U21 vs Romania U21 Betting Tips
England need to get their U21 Championships back on track and that is exactly what I think they will do here. They played very well in parts against France and must remember that, if they do that here there is no reason why they can’t win this game by two or three goals.
Romania surprised us in their opening game with the margin of victory against Croatia but when you compare these teams on paper, England are far superior to them in terms of skill.
This will be a good test of character for this young England side, but it is one I am expecting them to pass and I’m backing them to pick up a win here and get back on track in these Championships.
