Colorado Face LA Galaxy In Western Conference Clash
While the international break may be coming to a slow and steady conclusion, Major League Soccer is really starting to kick into that next gear as we get closer and closer to the MLS Cup playoffs. There’s a whole bunch of teams that are in with a shout of making it through to the next round courtesy of their regular season prediction, and we’re intrigued to see who can really make it count when it comes to crunch time. Today we’re going to be taking a look at a really fascinating clash in the Western Conference between Colorado Rapids and LA Galaxy.
Colorado have been the definition of inconsistent as of late, maintaining the same kind of trend that we’ve all come to expect in regards to the MLS. They’re situated in 10th position, 10 points back from FC Dallas in the final playoff spot, and with a mountain to climb. Their last six game spell began with a 2-1 win over San Jose, before losing 1-0 to Minnesota. They went on to draw 2-2 with Houston before dropping another loss to Real Salt Lake, but thankfully for them, they were able to secure back to back wins – against notable opposition, too, in the form of NY Red Bulls and Seattle.
Despite a really strong start to the campaign, LA Galaxy have slipped down the pecking order and now find themselves in 8th place – one point back from FC Dallas who occupy 7th, which seemed unthinkable not so long ago. Their latest six game spell began with a loss to Atlanta United, which they followed up with a 2-1 defeat against DC United. They got back to winning ways against FC Dallas themselves, before back to back draws against Seattle and LAFC – which wasn’t the worst of results in either instance. Then, however, they dropped a thrilling 4-3 loss to Seattle.
Colorado vs LA Galaxy Betting Prediction
Both sides are struggling to really find their respective form at this moment in time, but when push comes to shove, it just feels like Galaxy have the edge when it comes to natural ability throughout the squad. That has failed to secure them points on every occasion so far this season, but this is the type of game that they absolutely need to be winning if they’re serious about a place in the playoffs. We’re backing them to edge out Colorado who, by all accounts, are probably done in the race for the playoffs after this game.
