Chile & Uruguay Clash In Copa America
The final set of group stage games are set to take place in the next day or so, as we prepare for what should be a series of really entertaining knockout stage clashes. Of course, we’ve still got to find our way through and figure out what the official line-up for the next round is going to be. One game that is going to help decide that will take place between Chile and Uruguay, who are both considered to be dark horses in this tournament. They’ve both won it before, and in recent years, but will probably be considered underdogs in a few ties from this point on.
Chile, who are the two time defending champions of the Copa America, kicked off their campaign with a convincing 4-0 triumph over Japan. They went on to defeat Ecuador 2-1, setting themselves up for the next round. They’ll be well aware of the fact that winning the Copa America three times in a row, with Argentina and Brazil both failing to really challenge them, would be an overwhelmingly successful accomplishment. Now, they just need to go out there and get the job done, which is obviously going to be tough from the quarters onwards.
Historically speaking Uruguay are up there with some of the very best international teams in the history of the game, and we don’t think that’s an understatement. In terms of this tournament specifically, though, they kicked things off with a 4-0 demolition of Ecuador. They went on to draw 2-2 with Japan, which led some fans and pundits to wonder whether or not they’re ready to mix it up with the big boys. Even so, they’re one of the most exciting teams in the tournament from an attacking point of view, and we’re intrigued to see what they pull out of the bag against Chile.
Chile vs Uruguay Betting Prediction
We honestly believe that this is going to be a really entertaining game, but we aren’t expecting all too many goals. Both teams will know that they’re pretty much into the next round already, and they won’t want to stir the boat in any way, shape or form. Chile and Uruguay are both incredibly impressive teams with strong players on either side of the ball, but they may also want to be a bit conservative. That could lead to them resting a few players in the name of being ready and fully fit for the next round.
