Brazil Face Peru In Huge Copa America Final
After a thoroughly entertaining and dramatic tournament, the 2019 edition of Copa America is set to come to an end tomorrow night as hosts Brazil go head to head with heavy underdogs Peru. The expectation is that the Brazilians will lift the trophy for the first time since back in 2007, but the Peruvians won’t want to let this opportunity slip them by as they try and become champions for the first time since 1975. Either way, we’re going to see history being made, and we’re predicting a pretty entertaining encounter to go alongside that – that’s not too much to ask for, is it?
Brazil kicked off their home Copa America with a nice 3-0 win over Bolivia in the opening game. They went on to be frustrated by Venezuela in a dramatic 0-0 draw, before getting back to winning ways in the form of a 5-0 demolition against Peru – who, of course, they will play once again in the final. They were fortunate to get past Paraguay on penalties in the quarter-finals, and then in the semis, they went head to head with old rivals Argentina and won 2-0. Filipe Luis’ fitness is one of the biggest question marks in this game for Brazil, with Richarlison and Fernandinho expected to make the bench at a minimum due to their own fitness concerns.
Peru picked up their own 0-0 draw against Venezuela to kick off their run in the tournament, before avoiding their own upset with a 3-1 win over Bolivia. Then came the aforementioned 5-0 defeat to Brazil, which they’ll be dying to avenge on Sunday. In their quarter-final against Uruguay they went through on penalties, and in their semi, they took reigning champions Chile apart in a ruthless 3-0 win. In terms of their team news, they are expected to stick with the same starting XI, with Jefferson Farfan being a doubt with a slight injury concern.
Brazil vs Peru Betting Prediction
Peru have put in a valiant shift in order to get to this point, and they’ve impressed a lot of fans along the way. However, even with that being the case, it just doesn’t feel like they’re going to have enough in their locker to put the hosts in any substantial danger. Brazil will be well aware of the fact that winning this tournament on home soil would be a huge moment for the nation, and they’re going to pour everything that they’ve got into the encounter in order to make sure they get the job done.
