Big Spending Wolves Hoping for Positive Opening Day Result
Big spending Wolves are back in the Premier League and they begin their campaign with a home game against Everton this weekend. The game is televised live on Saturday evening, giving the country a chance to see what all the fuss is about surrounding Wolves. They won the Championship nicely last season, and have added genuine quality and strength in depth to their already impressive squad. When a team arrives in the Premier Leauge their number one aim is to survive, for Wolves though that would probably be seen as a dissapointment. They don’t want to survive in the Premier League, they want to flourish in it.
They haven’t been handed an easy assignment on the opening day though, with Everton the visitors to Molineux. The Toffees have spent a lot of money themsevles for the second consecutive summer, and fans will be expecting them to go better than last season. They took a while to get going last season, something they can’t affor to do again if they want to be up there challenging in the top half of the table. With a good start and some luck, there are some people that think Everton can challenge the top six this season. That is a possibility, although they will have to really play well from the off to get up there. A top 10 finish looks likely though, and that makes them a capable opponent for Wolves to face on the opening day, and one that will certainly give them a test.
Wolves vs Everton Betting Tips
The excitement and anticipation surrounding big spending Wolves is something that we haven’t seen around a newly promoted club for a while. They have more pressure on them to succeed than most, and it will be interesting to see how they get on in August with this pressure on them. If they can handle it, and get off to a good start then there is every chance that the newcomers can finish in the top half of the table this season.
Everton will be looking for a good start too, especially after we saw them struggle at the start of last season. They have again signed quite a few players, so will need those to come together quickly and get some points on the board. There is no doubt that Everton have a talented squad, and with a good start during this first month a 7th or 8th placed finish is a realistic goal for them.
I think Wolves will thrive on the pressure they are under to do well this season, and the excitement at the club will allow them to pick up some vital early points. That can start here with a win over Everton in front of the TV cameras. I think both teams will do well this season and finish mid table, but as far as this opening game goes, the buzz created by big spending Wolves can be enough to get them over the line and put their first three points in the bag.
