Bayern Munich to Take Advantage of Weakened Manchester City Team
The Champions Cup continues this weekend when Bayern Munich take on Manchester City. This tournament is always very difficult to work out and a lot of the results depend on which players are available. Going into this game Bayern have an almost full squad to choose from, while Manchester City will have key players missing yet again.
We saw City get outclassed by Borussia Dortmund when they played their available squad last week and it looks like being a similar story here. They have also been beaten by Liverpool this summer and another defeat looks to be on the cards here. The City youngsters and fringe players are good, but they don’t appear to be ready to stand up to the might of Bayern Munich.
The German giants will be looking to have a solid pre-season before they look to contend both domestically in the Bundesliga and in the Champions League in Europe. They are capable of winning both if they turn up and play their best, such is the quality of their line up.
The game will have a slightly bigger meaning than your normal friendly for one person and that is Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola. He goes up against his former team here and would love nothing more than to get one over on them, although that looks unlikely to happen for him.
Bayern Munich vs Manchester City Betting Tips
Had this game featured the star players from both teams then it would have been a fascinating and close encounter to watch. Unfortunately we won’t see that, and this is something that really tips the game in favour of Bayern Munich. They have won a game this summer, beating PSG before a loss to Juventus and overall they appear to have many more players available to them.
Their experience can show against what will be a youthful City team once again, with just a sprinkling of first team players and certainly not enough to over power Bayern Munich. Until City have ther full squad available for the Champions Cup they look to be a team to oppose, and Bayern Munich can take their summer total to two wins and one defeat from three games with a win here.
It isn’t time to panic just yet for Manchester City fans, but a loss here would leave them winless from their opening three games, giving Pep Guardiola something to think about.
