Wolves begin their Europa League group stage bid on Thursday night after qualifying for the tournament through the qualification games. This is an even bigger test, but make no mistake that Wolves are more than capable of getting out of their group and making their mark in the knockout phase if they get a bit of luck with the draw.

Their first game comes at home, which is always a positive and they face Portuguese side Braga. This is a game that Wolves can win, and of course one they will want to win to get off to the best possible start.

If there is a negative so far for Wolves then it has to be their start to the Premier League season. They have not yet recorded a win from their first five games with three draws and two defeats. Those three draws came in their first three games, so they come here on the back of a two game losing run.

Most recently they were beaten by Chelsea 5-2 at home, a game in which they were defensively very poor, something they need to fix quickly. However, they don’t face a team anywhere near that kind of quality today, this is far easier for them.

Braga are an average team in an average league, if you take out Benfica and Porto from the Portuguese league there is a real lack of quality in it. They should be beatable for the top English clubs, and that is exactly what Wolves will be aiming to do here.

It would be better for us if Wolves were in better form coming into this game, but that is not the case. However, despite that, this is a big night for them and one they will certainly be up for.

This team has the quality to comfortably beat Braga, and even though they are a little below form this season, they are still a team that are worth backing on Thursday evening when they begin things.
