Arsenal Battle Tottenham In North London Derby
Premier League football is back in our lives this weekend, and it kind of goes without saying that the biggest game over the next few days will be taking place at the Emirates. Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are set to go head to head, with three pretty important points being up for grabs. The fixture, dubbed the North London derby, is being contested at a time in which both teams have a lot going on. From new stars being embedded into their respective squads to some questionable results, there is a lot to unpack here.
Arsenal kicked off their Premier League campaign with a narrow yet entertaining triumph over Newcastle United, before also managing to edge their way past Burnley who were more than up for the challenge of facing the Gunners. They then took on European champions Liverpool, and despite putting up a fairly decent fight, they fell at the feet of the title contenders by a score of 3-1. In terms of team news we won’t be seeing Bellerin, Mavropanos and Tierney for this game, with the hope being that both Ozil and Holding will be able to feature as Kolasinac prepares to start at left-back in order to fill the void left by Monreal.
Tottenham were forced to come from behind against Aston Villa on the opening weekend of the season, winning 3-1 after trailing for the majority of the game. Next up was an intriguing tie against Manchester City, and despite being dominated by the Champions of England, they somehow managed to come away with a point in an entertaining 2-2 draw. Then, in their last outing, all of that good energy went flying out of the window when they lost to Newcastle. For this game Foyth and Walker-Peters will be out of action, with Aurier being set to come into the team. Ndombele could miss out through injury, with Vertonghen and Eriksen being tipped to feature.
Arsenal vs Tottenham Betting Prediction
The North London derby is always a fascinating game, and this encounter between Arsenal and Tottenham will be no different. While it seems easy to pick the Gunners to pick up the winner given the current state of both teams, we’ve just got a feeling that Spurs are going to click back into place for this one. We aren’t, by any stretch, guaranteeing a win for Pochettino’s men, but we do think that if they can remain firm defensively then they’ll be able to do some real damage if they can get Kane into some decent positions.
